leaparsons (4001), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Sep 22, 2004 Golden and still in appearance. Aromas are fruity pear and floral. Flavours are pears, apples with dry hops. Not very biiter on the finish. Just reasonable. Spiesy (2331), Global Citizen, Greater London, England Feb 28, 2004 Cask Conditioned, at The Frog & Todd, Gillingham.
Bright as can be, golden honey colour, charming. Strong volatile aroma, that dominates the entire experience. Alcohol, perhaps paint thinner, permeates this beer. A fight with one of the looks was narrowly avoided as I quickly explained we were not beer wankers but just two guys doing our job, sure I said ‘you can make a living our of drinking beer, but some days it just hard work’ the guy loved us from that point on. The second funny thing was that the brewer walked in whilst we were drinking this, Silk quickly collars him about the poor quality, that was a mistake….I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone say so much which meant so little, including some of the greatest politicians. Part of the life threatening SilkTork Gillingham Magical Mystery Tour.
Pub (4124), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Feb 17, 2004 Cask Conditioned at The Hobgoblin, Oxford. Limpid gold colour with little head. Citric hoppy beer with an orange like background. Little conditioning and a little flat. SilkTork (3941), Rochester, Kent, England May 4, 2003 Updated: Feb 13, 2005May, 2003: Gravity, Rochester Beer Festival. Gee, getting quite a skinful now. Time for something to eat. Anyway - pale gold colour. Citric cidery flavour with the citric tang progressing well into the finish. Somewhat watery and lacking the distinctive fresh bite of a typical Golden Ale. [1.9]
April, 2004: Frog & Toad, Gillingham. Orange-gold possibly premium bitter. Served slightly warm. Pale malt aroma. Fruit with a late hop bite. Chrissie finished this. Good girl. [1.9]
