georgekessel (68), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jan 11, 2008 Can: Purcahsed at 41st & Oat BCLBD. Pours a medium head that quickly fizzes down to a thin, tan head. Deep Orange-brown body. Delicious smells of toasted honey, spices and a sweet smell of hops. This year it tastes a bit more ’hoppy’ then two years ago. A tad watery but overall quite a nice winter ale. NOW ORGANIC WOO HOO mgermani (621), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Feb 21, 2007 Pours a dark brown, with an inviting yet metallic malt aroma and a small creamy head with a bit of lace. Surprisingly substantial taste - not a huge dark malt taste, despite the colour, but definitely some light brown sugar and a LOT of hops. Thin but hoppy aftertaste. Despite the lack of maltiness, the body is not too watery (although it’s borderline) and the carbonation is more than adequate. What a surprising beer - the hops pack a wallop! There just isn’t quite enough malt to support the hops in this one - thin dark malting disappoint, but the hops are enticing. I will keep my eyes open for more Nelson beers. presario (2447), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Dec 31, 2006 Dark copper but thin looking beer. Thick head is gone faster than you can write "Thick head". Thin aroma with roasted notes and caramel but a little stale or flat. Zesty light body. Similar to the aroma. Some dark spice and woody notes. A bit of a peppery woody finish is the best part of the beer. A little mild and thin of body for my liking. GonZoBeeR (2019), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada Dec 17, 2006 Aroma:vanilla, brown sugar, light sour aroma...
Appearance:redish-brown,light head...
Flavor:watery, light sour flavor, light vanilla and nutty flavor.... DuffMan (1962), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Dec 13, 2006 This 2006 batch is the first to ever be sold in Alberta, thanks to Dave at Willow Park for bringing it in! Dark brown, clear, modest tan head that recedes fairly quickly. Aromas of toast and brown sugar with a mild smoky element. The roasted malt really is apparent on the palate, but the beer comes off as being quite thin in the end. Not bad though.
