johndoughty (1681), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England May 3, 2008 Bottle. Murky brown appearance with a fairly dominant sylphs flavour that covers up any other flavours.Amusing and creative label.Pity about the contents. leaparsons (4001), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Nov 24, 2007 Bottle. Very dark brown with a beige head. Aromas are earthy roast malts with berries and some sourness. Liquource and yeast, too. Flavours are berries and raisins with mollasses and earthy malts. Some sourness with grapefruit bitterness towards the finish. Herbal and dry on the finish. Not bad. harrisoni (5373), Ashford, Kent, England Dec 13, 2006 500ml bottle from Phil_L, who I think bought it at the new brewery shop. Deep dark red colour with thin reddish beige head. Black cherry, malt, bit of yeast, bit of hop aroma. Bottle conditioned too. Good carbonation in mouth, goodish choc and black cherry flavours. Some chalkiness. Finish has some goodish hop. Bit sharp actually which conflicts with the fullness of the choc malt and fruit from the start of the beer. Good interesting winter beer. Cherry flavour is particularlyinteresting.
