Cask in numerous wetherspoons over the course of august. Alround rating just to put all the notes together: Solid malty base, fruity character of the house yeast, grassy and earthy hop, bitter finish, though at times i found a small sourness.

Cask, The Lord Keeper of the Seal, Oadby. Copper with a dense foam. Aromas are toffee malts with citrus and berries. Flavours are sweet and fruity. Lightly vinous with berries. Hints of chocolate. Spicy and dry on the finish.

Bottle Conditioned. Pours a amber colour with a thin white head. Very malty aroma, the flavour is plenty of fruit and, this leads to a very bitter sweet finish. A well made beer.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 16/7/08. Deep amber with a moderate, off-white head. Malty, red fruit and caramel aroma. Flavour began with a short burst of fruity sweetness before some earthy hops kicked in leading to a decent bitter finish. Very drinkable.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber with a small off white head. Earthy, musty, malt aroma, nicer than it sounds. Pleasant fruit and malt taste, complemented with a mid bitter finish. Tough, enjoyable beer.

Cask @ The Black Bull, Whitechapel. Deep gold with a thin white head. Hops and malt aroma, quite non descript as mentioned below. Hops at first with a malty backlash that somewhat balances it out, some sour fruity notes. Has a kind of buttery texture. Not amazing but not all that bad either, rather sessionable.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Malt Shovel Northampton. A copper coloured beer with a ring of off white bubbles. The aroma is malty but fairly non descript. The taste though is really nice and interesting. Malty and chewy with a good length. Some sweetness which made me wonder if there’s honey or elderflower. Almost warming even though it’s only 4.5%. Nice
