At a quaint pub in Clare (Suffolk) not far from the brewery. Nice, flowery hops, simple ale for a simple sort like myself that goes down easy and makes bangers and mash taste like heaven on earth.

Cask at FFTMC Autumn Beer Festival, Oxford 27-09-09 Pours pale copper in colour with white head, and good clarity. A change of glass and this was great improvement on my previous beer (see previous rating at FFTMC) Nice aroma of hops, malt and bags of fruitiness, its a lovely really quite traditional bitter aroma. Taste is more of the same with nice bitterness, slight drying quality and good though restrained burst of citrus, really nice stuff and very moreish, but off to the Blenheim for us now. Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber with a small white head. Another in the inappropriately named ’Azza-’ range. Metallic hop aroma. Earthy malt taste with some sweetness. Mid bitter. Very nice.

A Mes rate: Cask at our local. Nice amber colour. Sweetish hoppy bitter with some very delicate toffee malt. Standard English bitter.

Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury. Orange amber with white head. Beautiful looking clear bright beer, perfect in that direction. The flavour is dry and bitter with a late hoppy sweetness. Biscuity and crisp. A very well recieved beer on the night.
