leaparsons (4001), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Aug 13, 2008 Cask, Newark Fest 08. Copper with a small head. Aromas are toffee and biscuit malts with earthy spicy hops. Flavours are toffee malts with spices. Earthy and lightly burnt with hints of liquorice. Decent. RichardGretton (2682), Leicestershire, England Jun 29, 2008 Cask@Newark Beer Festival, 2008. Brown beer with a mildly toffee aroma and a strongly toffee and bitter flavour. Overall an average beer. Pub (4124), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England May 31, 2008 Cask conditioned at Thomas Rigby’s, Liverpool. Reddish amber with white head. Malty sweet fuller bitter, quite rich as Hughie points out and definitely fruity. A decent best bitter. Good stuff. hughie (2286), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England May 5, 2008 Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber, quite dark. Fresh fruit and cardboard aroma. Taste is rich, sweet grainy malt, beautifully balanced with sour fruitiness. Mid bitter. I thought this was a pretty near perfect English Bitter. I think Nethergate produce far too many beers: this is my twenty-second. Most are okayish. This one is the best by far. KnutAlbert (2322), Oslo, Norway Jan 12, 2006 Draft at the "Live and Let Live" in Cambridge - a splendid beer in a superb pub!
