Commercial Description:
This red tinted, copper coloured ale, has an intense mixture of typically English flavours. Wonderful light caramel notes become evident, and the clear, clean aroma of blackcurrent manifests, in this well crafted premium ale.

Cask conditioned at The Live & Let Live, Cambridge. Brown ruby beer with cream head. Thicker bitter with more mouthfeel but relatively sweet too, fruity with a bramble note and a little banana. Clingy sweet on the finish.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Malt Shovel Northampton. A ruby coloured beer with off white bubbles for a head. The aroma is fruity and dry. A bit thin to be honest. The taste is malty with berry fruits. Quite nicely balanced with the hops. Tasty.

Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Yellow brown, with no head. Malty aroma. Chocolate malt flavouring. Quite concise, a nice length in fact. Some banana. Standard Bitter, sweet, but well done.

Cask at the Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough. Dark brown with a good white head. Hops in the aroma. Malty, sweetish taste. Not very well balanced, average stuff.

Cask. I tried this beer over 3 days. Dark brown with white head. Initially fairly sweet but quite alot of roast barley flavour and bitter aftertaste. After 2 days was less sweet and more bitter and by third very bitter. I found this to be unbalanced, too much roast barley flavour for this type of beer not one of Nethergates best efforts. Better off trying the cask Augustinian Ale.
