| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Nov 11, 2006 Draught @ The Brewery: Along with pootz I to was filled in on the story of Manchester Bitter, and thusly feel permitted in providing the score it likely deserves. While I would never rate it lower than a Steelback beer, I will rate it lower than any other Neustadt product. Smells of wet, sweet grass. Pours deep yellow, no head. Flavour is slightly sweet, not at all bitter (at least not when cold), and fairly ordinary. Too bad I have a feeling it’s not seeing the light of day again.. haha pootzboy (1048), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Nov 11, 2006 Updated: Nov 13, 2006Sampled from a 10 liter draft caddy at the brewery. The brewer let me in on the secret of this beer and I ain’t tellin’ except to say that he was going for the Steelback experience....and he certainly acheived it with this lagerale.
;-)
I had a laugh seeing this getting lower scores than some Steelback beer and higher than some Neustadt beers......ratings are certainly a funny thing .

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 4, 2006 Draught. Yellow-gold with a small white head. Grassy, grain, wort, and hay aroma. The flavour is grainy and sweet and lacking any flavourful bitterness. DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 30, 2006 Corn nose, golden, small white head. Malty taste, sweet, light bodied. Fair, but does not meet the style. GregClow (2496), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 27, 2006 Draught sample at Golden Tap Awards. Light, bright gold with a creamy head. Aroma of candy and popcorn - lots and lots of popcorn. Flavour of a mild malty ale with popcorn floating in it. Where the hell did all this popcorn come from? Based on the name, I guess they’re going for a Boddingtons style bitter - they got the appearance right, but that’s about it. Radek Kliber (3945), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Aug 21, 2006 Draught at beerbistro during the 2006 Golden Tap Awards. Pours a clear gold with a small diminishing white head. Aroma: hmmm, I’m not crazy about that. Smells like grain and canned peas with lots of corn and faint hops. Flavour’s no better, it tastes like it smells with a somewhat bitter finish and a slightly unpleasant aftertaste. Medium bodied. I can’t say I’m a fan of this and I’m not sure how it’s a ’Bitter’, in the end I couldn’t finish it. I won’t be getting it again.
