On tap at Cest What with my Jadoreblanche and DOugshoemaker! Body is sparkling gold, full of bubbles, with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet hoppy watery. Worthers caramel casndies. Taste is malty but only slightly, buttery, and candyish. Not too bad at all. Bitter aftertaste, watery finish. Fun name, fun beer. Thanks for this info Doug!

On tap @ Ces’t What in Toronto. Pale yellow straw coloured body with minimal white head. Aromas of nuts, hops, and spice. Somewhat sour aroma. Tastes nutty, bitter, and malty. Very weird tasting. Bitter and watery finish. Strange.

foamy appearance. Its yeasty, but no character to the yeast. Its creamy, but there’s nothing distinct here, maybe a tad of malts. On tap at Volo Caffe, with Doug Shoemaker.

Bottled, fresh from the brewery. A nice orange-gold colored lager with moderate carbonation and a good rocky head that lingers as lace. Smells of musty rye under floral hop tones. Sturdy, medium bodied, starts smooth with a good balance of tangy hops (New Zealand?) pitted against an ample malty redolence which does turn very "biscuity towards the end" ....and the finish is earthy-buscuity and tangy from the hops. A nicely put together lager. Very much in the vien of old style Canadian lagers before corn and mega brewers destroyed Canadian lager.

Malty, floral nose, amber, tiny custard head. Hearty malt flavour at the start, slight hops taste in the middle, biscuity towards the end. Medium bodied, pleasantly bitter, easy drinking, reminds me of the old style lagers from the 60’s and 70’s. Nicely made. Thanks GregClow for the headsup.

OK, I get the VS-55 reference (this beer was brewed for Val Stimpson’s 55th birthday), but I have no idea where the "Shampoo" comes from. Very strange. Anyway, I had it on tap at C’est What in Toronto. Colour is a nice, clear golden with a decent white head. Aroma is primarily malty. Flavour is OK, quite well-balanced, but nothing mindblowing. The finish is mellow, with not quite enough hops for my taste. It’s a solid lager, certainly better than most macros & macro-wannabes, but I think I prefer their flagship beer to this one.
