The aroma is spicy with notes of soya, dates, and caramel. The flavor is somewhat like a Danish Hvidtøl: licorice and slightly burnt malt. The mouthfeel is smooth while the body is thin just like a Hvidtøl. But I haven’t felt my aging process slow down after drinking this beer - so I beleive it promises too much. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 16, 2007 Well, since I have turned 50 and then some and like beer, it is natural to try to combine interests! So I opened an Anti Aging beer, hoping for miracles.... The head disappears very quickly on this almost black schwartzbier. The aroma is malty in a "hvidtøl" kind of way and it has notes of berries. The mouth feeling is rather smooth and the flavour has notes of berries (raspberry among others), a bit of licorice and some other notes, that is hard to pinpoint. But I do know the aroma of spirulina, and I think I can recognize it in the taste. It’s a mild and delicious beer with an sufficient bitter finish - and I guess it takes more than one to get results in the anti-aging front....
