(Bottle 50 cl) Neuzeller’s Bock is rather light in color. And yet, with it’s beautiful slightly hazy amber color, I guess it’s somewhere between a dark "Doppelbock" and a pale "Bock". The head is tall and hard to control. Pale bocks are sometimes very alcoholic in the flavor, bordering on unpleasant. But definitely not this one. Very harmonious beer, where the fullness doesn’t turn to extreme sweetness or alcohol. A fresh flavor of grains and fruit. Definitely a good one. 091203

Strong smell like roasted peanuts, sweet and nutty taste, well balanced. The swettness stays long in the mouth

Golden-amber with strange fuchsia shine in it; amber-yellow, very dense-syrupy head, but fast gone as there is no carbonation to speak of. Nose of speculoos, kind of Belgian spiced cookies, spicey too, especially preserved ginger (piquant-sweet as for sushi) - maybe hint of cardemoms. Sweet main taste, alcohol, like whisky-malt. Not an Islay, but slightly smokey all the same. Ever so slightly soapy. Retronasal, the aroma is nearly fully malt-whisky, but a very cheap one. Rather thinnish MF, some alcohol, no real burn. What puzzles me most is why Jim&Nat chose this beer for me. I presume it was to show that Neuzelle is really botching up things. And then they failed miserably, as I do like it somehow - though I fully agree it is miles from what I understand usually as a Bock.
a very average malt, with too many shots of water?

Dark golden colour witn a small unstable white head. Aroma of malts, fruits and hops. The flavor is sweet malty and with strong notes of caramel. Lots of alcohol sweetness in aftertaste.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a lasting, off-white and creay head. Grassy and roasted malt aroma. Flavour is mainly grassy hoppy than roasted malt driven. Light metallic touch and a distinct bitterness leading into a dry and mild sweet malt flavoured finish.

Dark golden colour with a thick off white head. Powerful aroma of malts a bit of yeasty fruit. The taste is quite full wit a big part of sweetness to begin with including a great dela of fruitiness. Then gains some bitterness and then turns back to a malty sweetness.

courtesy of Toni Flükiger - hazy amber-orange colour with a little foam, composed of big bubbles, aroma of caramel and oranges, good malt body, some sweetness and a late moderate bitterness, long aftertaste of caramel, alcohol and oranges

Gold brown. Rather sweet, somewhat fruity. Full bodied with soft texture and some bitterness.
