| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 2, 2008 Beautiful, dark red with a nice pink head.. The aroma is sweetish with notes of cherries, marzipan and malt. The flavour has sweetness, nice cherries, marzipan, malt and a very light berry acidity, but not nearly as in a kriek. I have to remind myself that it isn’t a kriek, because if it was it would fall to the ground. I do not find the elderberry juice, that should have been added too. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 16, 2008 Somehow I overlooked to put in my rating from July 2007, when I had a bottle in Berlin. Fortunately I found my notes, which remind me that this had a syrupy quality and a flavor like cherry syrup, too sweet at first but mellowing nicely. Bright red color was attractive. Bottle. So sexy and satisfying on a hot summer’s day in Germany. I was on a train headed toward Berlin when I drank this yummy brew. Refreshing. Lovely, especially thorough cherry taste (because they use 50 cherries in a bottle, right?). Appreciate this, people - cherries take a minimum of 5 years on a tree. Under-rated!
