Dark brown appearance with a red edge. Coffee in the aroma and the taste. Some sweetness from the roasted malts, but not cloying. Nicely carbonated, giving it a medium-bodied flavor. Smooth, slightly smokey finish.

There is alot of good flavors in this beer, but alot of overpowering unbalance. The flavor is sweet and rich with chocolate, carob and caramel. Some toasted rice flavors in the finish. A bit too thin and perhaps a little chewy.

Aroma is chocolate, caramel and blackberries. Appearance is dark with a minimal head. Flavor is chocolate, dark fruit, and licorice. Aftertaste is sweet with a hint of sourness on your tounge. This is a nice one and possibly the longest beer name I've had the pleasure to rate.

Black in color with a tan head. Aroma is of coffee and bread with an oddly floral start. The start of the flavor extends the roasty-bitter breadiness with a long-lasting dry dark malt finish. It mostly reminds me of the dryness of chewing a coffee bean. There's some dark chocolate in there to sweeten things up, but it's mostly dry and bitter. I don't really like the overall dryness of the beer, and I'm not sure if it's a flaw or intentional. The body is bit too thin and bubbly, but otherwise a very enjoyable brew.

Good beer. Flavor is bready. Malty aroma. Dark in color. Brown head. Very smooth in flavor and texture. Thin body. Interesting and enjoyable.

I have found my calling! My first perfect score! This is the ultimate beer and tomorrow I shall seek a case! Super dark mohogany color and clear, with a lasting brown head. Malty, bready aroma. Fresh bread!!! The flavor is so super smooth and perfectly balanced. Pudding! The malt lingers too eternity! Unfriggenbelievable! Update: 1/5. I have my case. Every bottle is as good as the first. For anyone who likes German Dunkels and Schwartzbier, this is a must (as long as you get one in good condition).

Re-rate Light coffee (with a lot of sugar) aroma plus a bit lactic acid and a hint bitterhops. Red black, creamy low brown head. It is yet another variation of the Schwarzer Abt: Sweet sugar and roasted smoky malt. Not quite as sweet as the Abbot though. With age the beer seems to gain a round fruity coffee note. Full body, creamy mouthfeel, milkchocolate aftertaste, with a dash of bitterhops barely detectable. I saw on german tv that they have a kind of spa where you have bathtubs with taps. Both to add beer to the bathtub and to fill your glass of course :-)

Deep reddish brown, small brown head dissipates in about a minute. Smells roasty with sweet malt and stewed fruits. Cola and chocolate in the forefront, followed by grainy flavors, roasted nuts, coffee, an unappealing lactic sweetness, and ending on a buttery note (diacetyl?). Finishes with dark chocolate, fruit, almond, and a touch of copper. Altogether a pretty one-dimensional and average dark beer, okay but not memorable.
