Bottled sample. Near black in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla, and caramel. Flavor wise, it’s malt forward with strong notes of molasses, chocolate, and saltwater toffee. Minerally dry finish, with an odd sweet overlay. Somewhat porter-like, but the molasses flavor carries through way too long, making for a somewhat cloying beverage. Average.

Bottled(500ml). -Beer for bathing and drinking...Interesting. Black coloured, small brown head, sugary buttery nose. Light roasted malt, brown sugar and chocolate with mild notes of spices and alcohol. Very oily. Solid beer but something is missing.

16.9 oz. bottle, labeled "Neuzeller Kloster-Brau Original Bathbeer." Refreshing, malty, musty aroma features caramel, toffee, butterscotch, and brown sugar scents. Sweet, buttery smell. Pours a clear dark brown with a red hue and fluffy, uneven, frothy, beige head. A lot of small bubbles attach to the glass. Cool, crisp, appetizing appearance. Sweet start to the taste; dull coffee middle; tangy finish. Soda water and minerals in the flavor. Simplistic. Light body. Crisp, watery, and fizzy in the palate.

Bottle, 5.2%. Brown sugar aroma. Almost black colour, seems cloudy. Small tan head. The flavour is sweet and bready, a bit one-dimensional.

Very deep red color with a medium head. Big roasted malt, chocolate aroma. A little grain silo flavor going on. Slightly roasted taste as well. Finishes a little bitter.

50 cL bottle. Pours visible brown with a golden redish glare and a creamy and tan head. Roasted malt aroma and with dried fruit accents. Flavour is dry breadish malt - towards roasted. Quite clean and pleasing. Mild dried fruity note following. Goes into a nice finish with notes of fruit and more of the smooth roasted breadish malt flavours.

pours a very dark brown colour with an elusive foam; aroma of caramel with strange vegetal notes; sweet and light-bodied with a solid carbonation; no bitterness and a short and quite watery caramelish aftertaste
