Poured a dark brown with no real head. Aroma was dark malt with some sweetness to it. Dark roast flavor with perhaps a hint of coffee, and just a touch of sweet. A very interesting brew.

Pours black with a creamy, tan head. The aroma is roast, chocolates and toffee. The flavor is cola, cherries, chocolates, but end a bit thin. The moouthfeel is light with soft carbonation and a slightly tart finish.

from the bottle with 15/07/04 on the side. poured a deep dark mahagony this a meduim sized tan head that left very little lacing. aroma roasted coffee, cherries, brown sugar and just a hint hops and as it warmed some alcohol popped out. flavor the first thing is the nice smooth sweetness of brown sugar and honey, dark fruits, than the malts and hops make an appearance. I am glad I picked this up good beer.

There is a light roasted coffe aroma. The color is black with some reddish hues and a tan head. The flavor is a light roasted coffee with a sweet finish that is very light on the palate.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry & Dave B. -- courtesy of Dave B. Bathbeer? Those wacky Germans. Pours black with ruby hues and a spare off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, burnt molasses, toast, coffee & nuts -- quite a nice and unique aroma. Flavour dissapoints slightly, It’s roasty and malty along with a touch of soap(!) and some cola but it’s too thin and flat. Still, this was definitely interesting and for the most part enjoyable, I’d have it again.

Bottle (500ml). Shared with blankboy and Dave B, Dave B’s bottle. Poured deep clear almost opaque ruby-black with a small foamy off-white head. Dry, dusty overroast nutty motor oil aroma of burnt toast, coffee grounds, strong burned fruits. Taste follows aroma, but quite thin and weak ... nice, though, almost cola-like. Thin, slightly watery, dry - thanks, Dave!

this beer poured dark like a stout from a half liter bottle. the beer was very sweet, perhaps i should have let it ferment longer. needed some more flavor as it was fairly pale in the taste department.

Aroma is heavily of high quality coffee (un -schwarzbier like in my experience) and roasted malts, toasted breads. Deep black with a firm, index finger thick, lasting head. Flavor is very raisiny in the fore followed by a relaxed maltiness that carries the riasin flavors into the finish. Extremely and delightfully one dimensional. Excellent lacing marks the sippers progress like the rings of a tree track the years.
