(500ml bottle) Small tan head atop a black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, roast, some coffee, chocolate, burnt, light smoke, metallic, cherry. Taste is sweet, chocolate, molasses, smoke, coffee, roast, light lemon, cherry. Smooth, sticky medium-full body with low carbonation. Better than the Black Abbot, but still too sweet -- reducing sweetness 40-50% and adding some carbonation would make this much better. As it is, I still could not finish it.

Dark and opaque, with very little head and only a slight tingle of effervescence. Much more sweet than bitter, but with full flavor to support the sweetness.

50 cl bottle. This bottle says 7,2 %. No yeast at the bottom. Black colour with a small head. Aroma of malt and roastedness. Sweet smooth flavour of roastedness, very nice and very drinkable.

Bottle. Black coloured with a beige head. Malty aroma with metallic and roasted notes. Sweet roasted flavour with malty notes. Too sweet for my liking. More schwarzbier than porter.

Aroma of of fresh pumpernickle, pleasant flavors of malt, mild hops and a hint of woodsmoke. Smooth, easy to like, with a slight bitter afterfinish.

One of the best Porters I’ve had. Beautifully dark and rich, with no afterbite. A flavor combination that mixes well on the buds.

Black color. Breadish aroma, some malt, caramel. Sweet malty taste, some roasted malt and caramel, not too bitter, until the end. Not bad but not biting; quite unique in Germany.

Looks the way I like beer to look: black body beneath a frothy brown head and lots of lacing. Notes of chocolate, caramel, roasted coffee, dried prunes, and malted milk meet the nose. Smooth and creamy with a nice oiliness on the tongue. The flavor is bittersweet, robust, mocha, dried fruit.
