Neuzeller Schwarzer Abt (Black Abbot)

50cl bottle, local store. Pours dark brown color, long lasting beige head. Chocolate, sugary aroma. Flavor is more chocolate but this one is way too sweet for me. Had a hard time finishing it.

Clear dark red brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, dark roasted, a mix of roasted - chocolate - coffee - nutty. Initial flavor is heavy sweet and moderate to light light heavy dark roasted bitter, finish flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and dark roasted bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091010]

Best by 17/07/08. Sweet mail aroma. Dark amber color with a small white head. Sweet malt flavor similar to light DME. Palate is moderate with a low amount of carbonation.

500ml bottle. Cola-like in appearance - near black in colour, with a hint of red and a decent tan head. Sweetish, miklk chocolate and prune aroma. Easy drinking with a sweet stout like flavour of chocolate, with some roastiness and lactose finish. Good.

Bottle.Dark Ruby colour with small beige head.Aroma is sweet of brown sugar and candy.Flavor is light rosted and hoppy,mild mouthfeels and smooth finish.

A 0.5L bottle from local K-Market. Mild malty nose. Pale beige head (2.5mm). Sweet malty taste. Dark black reddish colour. Syropy taste. Slightly too sweet. Mild hoppiness.

Malty and smooth. Sweet. Reminds me of the warm milk at the end of a bowl of cereal. Very sweet, sort of thick. That’s good. Here, not so much. A bit of thin bitterness. Dark color with a tan head.

500 ml bottle. Black color, creamy tan head. Slighly metallic, sweet aroma. Smooth, sweet chocolate flavor with a touch of malts. Medium-light body, medium-light carbonation. Not great.
