Decent roasty aroma, very dark, not much of a head but more than most of the beers from this brewery. The flavor was more than a bit surprising. Cane sugar with a little molasses, and a huge licorice aftertaste. My first impression was that they forgot to ferment it. I’ve had some good sweet beers, but this is not one of them. A schwarzbier should not be nearly this sweet. This certainly wasn’t the worst beer I’ve ever had, but I must say it was quite disappointing.

16.9 oz bottle. Pours very dark orange-red with a decent head. Laces the glass nicely. The aroma is okay with rich unfermented maltiness. Then I tasted it. I’ve had gummy bears that weren’t this sweet! It was a huge disappointment. Thankfully they added some hops to offset the incredible amount of sugar, but it’s just way out of balance overall.

Okay, this smelled like cooked veggies- maybe asparagus. Oil in appearance and excellent in taste (no veggies at all). Tingly, heavy, yet light enough in the finish to be very enjoyable. Best by this brewery by far. Very chocolaty.

Ink black with a dark brown coating. Very small yet firmly set off-brownish cap sits on top quickly disappearing to nothing but a very tiny collaring. Lacing is thin and close to minimal amounts with some broken blobs and sporatic dotting. Aroma is darkly sweet of flat root beer and old molasses. Very sweet waftyness about it. Sugary chocolate cream pie filling makes an appearance quickly after it sits. Wow. This is way too sweet. For a schwarzbier this is all wrong in my book. Awefully sweet with flat root beer soda sugar mixing with flat, old molasses, black licorice candy without its spice, silky chocolate milk, and Hostess cup cake toppings. Slightly tangy under its sweetness along with a sliver of roast. But all towering sweet, no doubt about it. Yuk. Feel is syrupy and a bit heavy with a slick easy texture that seems more like very flat soda. Not sure where to begin or where to end with all the things wrong with this beer. I’m wondering if there’s some off bottleing or old bottles or what?

Muddy brown body and a fading, soapy light tan head. Aroma of cocoa powder, roasted nuts, cola, and smoke. My nose totally betrayed me on this beer because the flavor is just gross. Tastes like chocolate syrup, coke, and veggies that were both boiled and burnt. The palate is like soda with too much syrup. This was a miserable $3.60 drainpour.

(Bottle 50 cl) Funnily enough, this shouldn’t be called a beer, because it has added sugar and therefore breaks the aged "Reinheitsgebot". But this is of course a Schwarzbier with added sugar which gives it a flavor strongly reminding me of a Danish "hvidtøl". But only not quite as sweet and with a more distinct hoppy bitterness. Almost black beer with a nice light brown head. Quite unusual type for Germany. 261103

This smells like chocolate followed up by pills and ass. It looks nice a black appearance with a tan head. This is SWEET and WAY TOO SWEET. It tastes like you opened a bottle of Aunt Jamiama and just poured that shit down your throat. This is more like a pancake topping than a beer. Its leaving a coat of slime on my glass as if I poured honey in there. Im going into sugar shock! This is too rich and weird to be enjoyed. Should have listened to Heemer.

Very black body with a medium colored tan head. Aroma of roasted walnuts and some sweet caramel. There is also a little rotting pear and rubbing alcohol. The taste is extraordinarily sweet with pancakes and some apples. There is a tiny hint of roasted flavors. This is terrible. The majority went down the drain.
