Somewhat fruity, malty flavor with little mouthfeel. Sugary and syrupy. Bready. I can’t help but make the "wrinkled nose face" because I can’t tell what’s going on. Strange beer. This may be an indication schwarzbiers are not my favorite style. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jan 24, 2005 Brown colour with beige head. Rather acidic aroma with hints of bread. Flavor is sweet and malty with some dark fruit. Thin palate. Although I’m generally not well disposed towards sweet beers, I will tolerate them if they are well done and balanced, like some types of Belgian Trappist ale. But this one is very unbalanced. It’s sweet to the point of cloying; it has too little body and alcohol, and there’s not much bitterness evident (did they use hops at all?). TheDean (785), MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Dec 26, 2004 Honey aroma, thin to zero head, and caramel malts. Palate and finish are honey, honey, chocolate coffee, and honey. If you don’t like honey, don’t touch this one, I say. Texture is creamy hopped honey, and your mouth will feel like you just ate a small piece of fresh honeycomb. Leaves the palate sweet and sticky. I love sweet, and I will definitely try this again. walleye (882), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA

| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Dec 10, 2004 Drak black body and a huge head on it. Aroma is a stinky malt smell. Flavor tastes like carbonated sweetened vegetable. Not good. Inveigler (371), Ferndale, Michigan, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Dec 4, 2004 This is pure awful candy beer. Seriously, I would like to take the brewer of this beer and stick his head in a bucket of hops and keep it there until his body absorbed enough that his mere proximty to the brewing process would ensure that this never happens again. I am not sure how this beer has ratings as high as it does. One of the few beers that I have not enjoyed at some level.
