Black coloured. Very sweet. Unpleasant notes of horse barn and rotten stuff. A bad Schwarzbier.

Pitch black beer with a fine light brown head. Sweet malty, grainy, brown sugary and sweaty aroma - quite strange. Extremely sweet and sugary flavor with a good roasted tone behind the sweetness. Waay to sweet and thin, like sugar water.....

WOW, when I opened this bottle and poured it in my glass, the only thing I could see was loads of brown foam. Much head, no body at all. It even emerged in the bottle after pouring the first load of foam in the glass. suddenly I needed another glass to put in the foam. After about 20 minutes the beer was stabilized with a very thin head. Black coloured body. Sweet malty and fruity smell. Taste is too sweet, malty and fruity. Very sirupy and sticky. Not really good.

The bottle opened with a pathetic little "pthht" - thought it was going to be flat. A vigorous pour yielded only a medium head - great lacing tho. This was malty thick and sweet. The flavor and appearance combined really reminded me of Coke syrup - even had a little rootbeer/licorice flavor to it. Body was very smooth, but that kind of added to it's cloying syrup feel. A mild hop dryness at the finish couldn't help it enough. Not one of the better Scharz's I've tried.

Bottled. Black with a creamy, off-white head. Weak flavour; some chocolate maybe. Too sweet! Like the last in a coffecup with too much sugar.

Bottled. Dark brown. Way too syrupy and sweet for my liking. The sweetness overpowers what could have been noticed in aroma and flavour.

Quite creamy and sweet. Not bad, but not overly good, either. Very nice color and aroma, singularly unique. Laces the glass thickly and evenly.

Deep mahogany color and clear. Nice bready aroma. Very sweet and worty flavor, as if this has not fermented completely. Very pleasant and interesting.
