| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Sep 28, 2007 Updated: Oct 2, 2007On tap at Berliner Bierfestival. Dark brown, almost black, body with a nice, beige head on top, leaving nice lacings. Sweet and roasted nose, a bit boring. The flavor has the same sweetness and roastiness, and some caramel as well. Full, sweet mouthfeel. The finish is a bit cola-like, with sweetness, caramel and some roast. A disappointing schwarzbier, the sweetness makes it almost a stronger cousin of the Danish hvidtøl. Sweet and slight roasted aroma. Very sweet sugarish, much like a danish hvidtoel. Ends malty sweet. Nice. patrick767 (2037), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 10, 2007 bottle - Pours almost black with a thin head. The aroma is roasty with a hint of coffee and some dark fruit. The flavor is intensely sweet and quite fruity. For the first few sips it was very good, but the sweetness soon became too overpowering. Go for this beer if you like them really sweet. imdownthepub (5164), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 9, 2007 Bottled, 500ml, courtesy of DerDoppelbock (many thanks). Black to dark brown with cream head. On opening there is a rich fruity aroma with deeply roasted malt, a great start. The overlying flavour though is of a sugary, glucose sweetness which permeates through the whole of the beer. I can get a blackberry fruitiness and some winey malty, even coffee notes, but the sweetness remains predominant. An interesting beer certainly. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 24, 2007 Bottle. Dark red brown beer with a huge and long lasting palebrown head. Aroma of roasteds malts with some burned notes as well as some sweetness. Taste is much too sweet, sugary with vague notes of smoke.
I prefer the badebier from the same brewery much more. MiP (9097), Sønderborg, Denmark
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 11, 2007 Bottle at KØ07. Fruity aroma. Almost black colour, almost no head. The flavour is quite sweet, reminding me of hvidtøl, some brown sugar.
