Jul 17, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a fizzy/creamy and white head. Herbal to spiced aroma. Flavour starts light fruity and sweet. Hold a mild cornish note following this. Goes into a mild bitter and light caramel smooth finish. Smooth and easy, not much bitterness though.

Jun 3, 2005 Bottle, Delerium Café, Brussel, March 2005. Gold, thin white head and moderate condition. Sweet and worty grain aromas, some balance in the mouth with grain and chalky hoppiness muted but matched. Some hop bitterness in the finish, otherwise unremarkable.

A bit grain, a bit bitterness, a

Thinish body.

Aug 21, 2007 Draught at BBF07 as Werderaner Landbier. Clear pale yellow colour. Stable white head. Grain, light malt. Very boring flavour, but flawless.

May 18, 2005 (bottle) Golden colour with a small frothy white head. Predominantly malty nose with a touch of citric hops. Malty and grainy mouthfeel with a short medium dry hoppy finish, quite low bitterness. Drinkable.

Aug 21, 2004 Sweet and fruity nose, big foamy head, pale straw color. Round sweetish malt with a late arriving hop zing. I missed the rough and raw unfiltered yeast and hops tastes in other landbiers with this sample. Needs more bitter.

Mar 17, 2005 Light golden, clear; white head, reduces itself fast to 0.5 cm leaving lace. Grains and diacetyl. LOTS of it. In Germany? Diacetyl is still there in the taste, but thankfully more subdued. Dry grainy taste with a hoppy aroma. Unfortunately, falls flat fast leaving little or not aftertaste - just some dry-sweet impression, corn fried in butter. Light MF, flat. I belong staunchly to the anti-diacetyl camp. This is the first German beer where I get it in considerable amounts. And I’m sure it’s considered VERY bad practice in German brewing circles. It makes me wonder WHY this brewer is on crusade against the Reinheitsgebot...
