Jan 23, 2005 Clear mahogany body topped by foamy beige head, nice lacing. Aroma is mild, earthy, some caramel. Taste is medium sweet, earthy, some caramel, dusky, light anise. Light-medium body, creamy. Very drinkable -- 20 ounces went in a flash.

Sep 29, 2005 Draft at NABC. Light brown color with moderate off-white head that diminished slowly. Moderate sweet malt aroma. Medium body with smooth texture. Medium sweet malt flavor with a short finish.

Jul 16, 2004 Sample at the brewpub. Fruity, cherry-apple dominated nose; wonderful, huge malty fruitiness throughout, berries and fresh grass and old musty books...big body, thick and juicy...this was actually my favorite of the seven samples I had, and one of the best bitters I’ve ever tasted. Awesome job, Mike!

Aug 17, 2003 At Indiana MBG Fest: Copper hue with no head. Fruity, aromatic hops, roasted malts, and musty aroma. Taste starts sweet and nutty but quickly changed to a bitter and spicy tone. This thin to medium-bodied brew has a dry and fizzy mouthfeel. Moderate metallic feel as well. Better than average bitter, I enjoyed it and will seek out again if in area.

Mar 22, 2005 This draft brew from the brewery poured a large sized head of foamy off-white colored bubbles that left behind a good lacing and an uncarbonated transparent copper brown colored body. The aroma contained mild malt and hop notes. The mouth feel was mildly tingly and mellowed in the finish with a malt hop bite and a hoppy flavor.

Nov 27, 2004 Draft at Rich O’s in New Albany, IN. Large ivory head, good lacing, uncarbonated, and an orange brown hue. Aroma was malty, caramel, sweet, and fruity (apples?). Sweet, bitter, malty, and hoppy flavor. Tingly palate.
