Draft at Fest: Opaque with a small tan head which diminished leaving an oily layer, good lace. The aroma has notes of vanilla, oak, whisky, roasted and burnt malts, pineapple, floral hops, and dusty yeast esters. The taste starts with a coffee and mocha nature. A nice balanced bourbon and vanilla kick, not over the top. Fruity and smoky finish. The feel is rich and smooth. Another winner from New Albanian, worth a trip to seek out their beers. Sweet (almost like an Imperial) !

I tried this after it was aged for 18 weeks; the assistant brewmaster said he liked it best at 12. Nevertheless, I thought the mouthfeel was fairly thin. I don't understand why they use nitro, although the creaminess factor might play a role. Aroma was that of a stout with a dash of Crown Royal or Jim Beam. I don't anticipate trying this again but appreciate the novelty involved.

Draft - nitrogen: Hint of whisky in the nose. Dark, dark. Subtle bourbon becomes more pronounced as it warms. Very smooth, very nice!
