Commercial Description:
Community Dark First and foremost, Community Dark is English-style Mild Ale. We’ve dubbed it “Imperial Mild” because it’s a shade stronger than classic Mild. Light (bodied) but dark (colored), Community Dark is the ideal session ale and the best place to begin overcoming one’s irrational fear of the dark. English malts; lightly hopped with East Kent Goldings; London yeast. OG 1050 …

On tap at the brewpub. This is billed as an "Imperial Mild." Tasted dishwater flat. Has an odd taniginess. Maybe some vanilla? Possibly the pint I had was old or soured. This was just really bad beer. Since all the people in this place are super nice, a "regular" who struck up a conversation with me took a taste of this beer and said that something was wrong. I hope to get back here and give it another chance someday. A great beer bar!

Brown color with a medium head that laces well. Aroma is grainy with a mild sweetness. Flavor is much the same. I thought the body a bit light and could have used just a bit of hop in the finish. Overall not bad but with their selection I probably will not order again.

Deeply dark coloration, slimmish head, tan and lightly dotted... Nose of cocoa and nuts...charcoal and maple, but all played very lightly...nice..to a point...shall we say... Taste: smooooth, light on the palate, very easy, yet full of character, if not too full of body...loads of malt, lots of taste, much more full of taste than I’d expect from an English mild...I like it, it’s good... a much ballsier mild than I’d been anticipating...very worthy. Very good...nice...Hooray, New Albany, and all the New Albanians!

Draft at Rich O’s in New Albany, IN. Small tan head, lacing was fair, transparent, and a reddish brown hue. Malty, caramel, chocolate notes, and some hops. Flavor was lightly acidic and malty. Smooth mouthfeel.

Tap at Mad Anthony’s. Deep brown color. Coffee aromas. Didn’t know this was in the mild ale category. Tasty for a mild ale.

On tap at Mad Anthony’s Octobeer Fest. DarAmber color with a foamy biege head and a sweet grain nose. Some chocolate, dusty coco crispy ceral notes. Thinnish mouthfeel. I would have not guessed this as a mild.

Pretty bland unless it’s the first beer of the night. I remain sad that Rich O’s pulled Newcastle in favor of this one.

(Draught) Pours a dark brown color with a small white head. Not bad, but not a very flavorful brew either.
