Commercial Description:
Excessive hopping rendered moot a modest plan to brew a seasonal winter warmer, and since the original batch was brewed on Election Day, 2002, Elector continued to make democracy pointless and redefine the Imperial Red category.

English & American malts; Cascade & Galena hops; London yeast. Dry-hopped. O.G. 1072

clear amber, scant beige head, light sweet caramel malt aroma with light floral hops, thin body, hot caramel malt flavor, mostly dry with some earthy hops balancing the alcohol, long bitter finish, the bitterness and the thin body is not a good combo, needs either more body or less betterness,

Pours cloudy amber with a fully receding off-white head. Aroma of piney dry hopped cascaes, evergreen and grapefruit. Taste is hoppy, piney, and citric with a malt backbone. Mouthfee is full bodied, resinous with lively carbonation. Certainly enjoyable.

On tap at Rich O’s Publick House when I stopped on the way to Dark Lord Day. A persistent, tight white head forms easily over this clear, medium dark amber brew. The aroma showcases some flowery hops and supportive malt. Well balanced betweent he malt sweetness and the hop bitterness, with the hop bitterness lingering into the finish. A bit thin, but an easy drinker nevertheless.

On tap at Rich O’s Publick House during RBSG Road Trip 2007. Slightly hazy golden brown with a white head. Big nose of malt, citrus and herbal hop. Nutty caramel flavors to go with the aforementioned hops. Certainly not your typical IPA!

Draught at the brewpub. Clear copper with a lacing white head. Sweet malty nose, but not a ton here. Light English hops [turned out to be Goldings]. Good malt/hop balance, with the latter winning out. Dry, herbal, hoppy finish. Yes, deifnitely something English about this. Sticky and slightly warming. Full bittersweet body with a similar finish. I like this. My favorite from the sampler.

A deep amber pour with a clinging silky lace of off white. A light sweet malty aroma. Like a big sweetened grapefruit. A flavor of sweet malt with a just right bitter on the finish. Just a tad thin but good carbonation and mouthfeel. A good beer that leaves an excellent bittering after taste which lingers nicely.
