Dark reddish appearance. Flavor is rather good. Nice bitterness and kind of a roasty toastiness that turns to more sweet and malty tones as it sits in your mouth. 502Flavors (629), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

Anyways, this stuff is pretty good with a very solid hop character on the aroma and the flavor with an almost rye malt charcter (despite the lack of rye malt in the recipe). Good stuff! The nose is light and juicy, noting apple and cherry. The body presents a moderate bitterness and a fresh hop slickness. Juicy mouthfeel is the result of the fresh hops. Slightly buttery malt backbone keeps things together and bring in creamy caramel notes to balance the hops. Good stuff that went great with pizza. BBB63 (4271), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 20, 2004 Draft at Fest: Deep amber with a small frothy head and some lace. The aroma has notes of caramel, plum, grapefruit, (light pine, grassy, and spicy) hops, and earthy yeast esters. The taste starts with a bitter piney and tart grapefruit nature. Chalky and roasty undertone to provide good balance. The feel is crsip and sharp with a light bite upon the finish. A quality brew with good depth, very quaffable. Almost an ESB style in character except for the pine.
