phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Sep 8, 2009 Beer number three: Pours a clear golden, bright as day and once the fizz dies down, nothing but those noble hops coming through on the nose. Grassy and herbal, taste had a touch of saltiness. Dry and pleasent. Love the picture of Elsa on the label. Rynoplasty (500), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Aug 30, 2009 Pours golden brown with a nice white head. Aroma is crisp earthy, slightly minty hop. Flavor is a nice blend of crisp light malts with a very interesting minty, fruity hop flavor. Pretty good. Tmoney99 (4652), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 23, 2009 Draft at Bank Street.
Poured hazy dark golden color with an average frothy white head that was lasting and produced good lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus hop and sweet fruity aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and lively carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
Nice beer. DrnkMcDermott (1831), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Aug 21, 2009 Beer #19 at GTMW ’09. Actually cloudy despite pilsener color. White pils head, though. Smell is nice, though alcohol does come in stronger than pils fragrance. Taste is mostly alcohol, but some pilsener hops do come through the center of my sample glass. Pours a transparent gold with a substantial head. Nose is slightly sweet with lots of grass, and a bit of citrus. Taste is slightly citrusy, with a tiny bit of spice and a good amount of pine and grass. Mouthfeel is light (but not too light) and very crisp. Delicious beer for warm weather. MI2CA (1260), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Sep 27, 2008 Sample at 2008 Indy Microbrewers Fest - Aroma fresh grassy hops and doughy yeast. Pours transparent gold with a big head. Flavor is pine and grassy hops with a nice spicy yeast finish. Palate is crisp and clean. Very tasty and I would like to try a bottle conditioned version. drewbeerme (2224), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 17, 2008 Updated: Sep 22, 2009on tap at GTMW ’08. pours hazed golden white head. sweet bready aroma. citrus hop notes, sweet biscuity flavor. clean but too much and not enough hops! BBB63 (4196), La Porte, Indiana, USA Jul 21, 2008 Indiana Microbrewers Fest: Golden hue with a big head and good lace. A wonderful nose with hints of tropical fruits (mango, pineapple), biscuity malts, dusty yeast and a phenolic tone. The taste had a big snap of bitterness and booze. Chalky and biscuity undertone. The mouth feel is sharp and hot, not all that refreshing. Different for sure, just a tad too much boozy character for me.
