502Flavors (617), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Dec 20, 2008 on tap. hazy pour (like all other new albanians). Pretty nice with an unexpected hop character that far surpasses that of any other amber I have had. Solid amber. Acknud (770), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA Aug 18, 2008 I can’t get too excited about ambers and this is no exception. Not a bad drink but just not memorable. I consider this a good sit around with friends social beer. It is pleasant to drink while not distracting from the conversation. cdeaton (66), Madison, Indiana, USA May 29, 2008 Sampled from a half-gallon at a beer tasting. A nicely carbonated amber ale with a transparent red pour. Small white head with decent lacing and lingering malts on the palate. I’ll take the brewer’s word that the robust Maris Otter malts made this one work. The extra price it took to obtain them was worth it. Very full-flavored for an amber. mnurda (434), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Feb 19, 2008 Normally I am not a fan of Amber Ales, but this is an eception. Nicely hopped, and not as malty as some. On tap at Rich O’s TheBeerOrg (1563), Kentucky, USA Feb 2, 2008 Updated: Feb 18, 2008At Rich O’s - Pours hazy dark reddish brown with a fully receding tan head. Aroma of mild piney hops, with toffee and grapefruit. Taste is citrus, conifers, resinous hops and bready malt from the aromatic/specialB. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied and lightly resinous. Pretty drinkable amber, a bit more hoppy than Fat Tire, which I think is a good thing.
Port Barrel Cask @ Rich O’s - Reddish hues, hints of oak and wine. Absolutely delicious, I would rate this a 4 or above, and I would add it to the database if it weren’t a one-off. MORE PLEASE!
