opaque orange, frothy dirty white head, lots of lace, sweet fruity pine and tangerine aroma, lots of hop flavor on a sweet malt base, lots of citrus character that turns into a sweet orange as it warms, strong bitterness kicks in about halfway through and lasts through a long bitter finish, it’s the orange character at the end that makes this beer special

(Savor, draft) Medium beige head atop hazy light amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, orange, some pine/pineapple, light cattiness. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, some orange, light alcohol. Medium-full body, some resin, lightly sticky.

On tap at the 2007 GTMW: Pours a transparent bright golden bronze with a spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of earthy, grassy, grapefruity, hempy hops and some sweet pale malt. Body starts with a light pale malty sweetness and fresh earthy resiny grapefruity hops toward a crisp sticky bittersweet finish. A pretty nice IIPA.

Draft sample pours a hazy orange. Fruity mandarin orange and crystalline sugar nose, and the flavor is also expectionally sweet and sugary/gritty. Candied alcohol and messy unfermented sugars, but the worst thing is the body tends to fall quite thin in the back. Boozy for 9% ABV, and also too sweet, but at the very least it’s all hops and little malt character.

Draft at brewpub. Poured hazy copper with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate floral and sour citrus aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Medium smooth biiter flavor with a heavy bitter finish of long duration. I would recommend this to a freind.

Indiana Microbrewers Fest: Golden hue with an okay head and lace. The aroma seemed a tad weak with mild citric bittering hops, bready malt, and dusty yeast esters. The taste was balanced with citric tones and slight peppery finish over a layer of basic malts. The mouth feel is oily, soft and warming. For an DIPA this comes up short but not a bad beer.

Growler thanks to KP. Poured a lightly hazed copper color with a medium sized but quickly diminishing white head. The aroma is citrusy, piney, and a little floral mixed with malt. The flavor starts with a quick ending malt and then goes to a piney and floral hop flavor. The hops go on long with a a mild-moderate bitterness finishing it out. There is a good amount of warmth as well.
