Nice off-white head which is slightly creamy on top. Decent carbonation. Aroma is a little weak in the stout portion. Aroma predominantly of an amber or brown beer. A little sweet and malty with a touch of grain. No roasted smell that you would expect. Color is a beautiful deep red mahagony. Flavor is a little sweet and not very strong. More malt and a little hops presence. Finish is pretty clean with a slightly dry and bitter aftertaste. A decent beer but a little light on the stout portion in aroma and flavor.

I really didn’t care much for the aroma of this beer at first, but it got better as the carbonation left a bit. Sort of amaretto and yucky grain smell. This is a sweet beer, not much in the stout portion, and actually almost favors an alt or brown. The flavor is decent but fairly unremarkable. For the NY regionals, Brooklyn Brewery’s got them beat hands down. Not bad though.

A hoppier taste than the Amber or Blonde. Noticeable bitterness and a somwehat harsh flavor. Nothing special.

Medium bodied, smooth with a dark cherry-red body. Some maltiness with caramel and nutty flavors, however the taste is sharp and unbalanced. I wouldn’t call this bad, but almost.

Brown with a reddish hue and a quick head. Sligthly dry, but not too much. Slightly nutty and malty. Not great, but one of the better B&Ts I’ve had.
