Very dark purple-brown; light tan, slightly frothy head. Aroma of bready malt and roast and ash; nutty; a hint of plum. Flavor is malty, roasty, nutty, and a tiny bit smoky. Medium body; medium sticky. A decent beer, but I would rate it higher if I liked the style more.

Pours reddish brown, very dark at a glance, with a moderate tan head. Aroma of caramel, toast, dark rye bread, and a light astringency. Taste is pretty complex actually, flavors of roast, chocolate, toffee, caramel, and a grainy yeast pungency (house character?). Medium bodied, creamy, with low-ish carbonation, finishes bready and nutty. It’s basically a funkier porter. Very good!

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with 2 finger rocky tan head and really nice lacing. Nose is lactic with coffee and cocoa. Taste is coffee up front, roasty barley and yeast with a bitter chocolate finish. Medium, semi-creamy mouth feel. Decent beer.

Pretty bitter, but in a good way. I’m a fan of super dark beers, and I will purchase this beer again.

12oz bottle. Beautiful dark ruby red color. Darkish head that clings. Big coffee smell. Coffee flavor as well, with a malty backround. Pretty tasty beer.
