Commercial Description:
Pull on your wool socks and crack open a 2° Below Ale. This tasty winter warmer started life as a small batch beer brewed for the Al Johnson Uphill Downhill – a telemark ski race in Crested Butte, Colorado. The Uphill Downhill celebrates the exploits of Al Johnson, letter carrier extraordinaire, who delivered mail by ski in the late 1800’s. Dry hopping during fermentation creates a floral nose with a hint of pepper and spicy, subtle undertones. 2° Below provides a bright, hoppy palate and a cheery warm afterglow.

On tap at Falling Rock in Denver. Pours a clear dark amber with a nice white head. Aroma of malt, hops, yeast, and a hint of funk. Sweet and sharp taste, of malt, hops, and citrus. Lingering sharpness. Drinkable.

12 oz bottle. Wonderful blend of fruit and hops with a slight taste of spice. One of the better winter brews I have tried. I’m not big on this style but this is very pleasing. The ABV is well hidden.

Clear amber color. Honey hoppy aroma. Sweet malitness balances our strong orange floral notes.

Smooth and refreshing with a hint of bitterness in the finish. Pours an amber brown with small off-white head. Just the perfect accompaniment to a cold winter evening.

12oz from a good friend - thanks, Jeff!!! A lighter pour than I expected, though that’s probably because I wasn’t aware of the official designated style. Very nice pale amber, decent head. Some nutty malts in the nose, but what really struck me was the aromatic hops. Almost like they took the basic idea of SN Celebration - i.e. who cares about "seasonal" spices so much? - and just decided to make a rich and mildly warming beer. True, there are some spices in here ever so faintly. But it’s more or less just a solid, fruity ESB.

12 oz. bottle pour into pint glass. Nice brown color with a 1.5 finger head that dissolves to just a thin layer on top. Nice lace trail as the head dissolves! Floral nose, some malt. Malty flavor in the beginning and a nice hoppy finish. Light mouthfeel.

[Bottle] Pours an amber color with a good amount of white head. Good malt aroma. Malty taste as well, with some caramel, toffee and molasses. Light nutmeg and clove notes. Crisp hops finish it off. An enjoyable winter brew.
