One of the better winter brews I have tried. I’m not big on this style but this is very pleasing. The ABV is well hidden. doublebock (196), USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 6, 2009 12oz from a good friend - thanks, Jeff!!! A lighter pour than I expected, though that’s probably because I wasn’t aware of the official designated style. Very nice pale amber, decent head. Some nutty malts in the nose, but what really struck me was the aromatic hops. Almost like they took the basic idea of SN Celebration - i.e. who cares about "seasonal" spices so much? - and just decided to make a rich and mildly warming beer. True, there are some spices in here ever so faintly. But it’s more or less just a solid, fruity ESB. jmw141 (134), Canton, Illinois, USA
