| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Nov 26, 2008 Pours clear dark amber with a generous white head, good retention and very nice lacing. Pine hops aromas are strong, accompanied by spruce tips and a slight spiciness. Very well balanced flavor of the aforementioned hops with a strong caramel malt backbone. That Christmas tree sense is also there, but none of the spiciness that the nose detected. Medium to full bodied, light carbonation, and more hops than malt in the aftertaste. Very nice drink. blutt59 (2167), Dallas, Texas, USA

A bit more spice, a bit more fruit, but still the same texture, yeast, and drinkability. The higher ABV helps it out. douglas88 (1662), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 15, 2008 Bottle from College Liquors in Grand Junction, CO. Pours a clear copper color with a large and foamy white head. The aroma is full of piny and citrus hops. A sweet hoppy flavor, with strong caramel malts and a light bitterness in the finish. An interesting sweet/bitter balance. Very nice. scooterbub (384), Lander, Wyoming, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 2, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cloudy copper color with a thin, light tan head that slowly fades. Taste is of hops, pine, some malt, caramel, spice and fruit. Sweet tasting and has a good balance to it. Slightly bitter and hoppy in the end. Aroma is much the same, but the hops really shine through. Despite the alcohol content, it is easy to drink. Overall, this is a pretty enjoyable beer and would be nice to have on a cold day.
