Oct 30, 2007 Good Ale, very frothy and a great finish. Nothing great about the appearance, except the bottle. Nice aroma, doesn’t knock my socks of but just enough to make we take another sip. It seems to get thick when going down, which is a bit strange but good never the less. Again great after taste, almost like it changes from an agressive hoppy beer to a mellow wheatish beer near the end. Great job New Belgium brewery.

Oct 29, 2007 Twelve ounce bottle pours clear orange, like dark apple cider, with a small off-white head. Aroma is faint grasses. Flavor contains biscuit, fruity... lime / juniper hops, and a touch of slightly spicy licorice. Finish is a little citrus hoppy and a little stringently dry.

Oct 29, 2007 I had this on tap at a local pub. Pours golden color with nice off-white head. nice citrusy and floral hop aroma. Taste is citrusy and floral, as well, ending in a nice, clean finish. This is definitely a good sessionable beer for the Winter.

Oct 28, 2007 golden amber with decent off white head. flavors and aromas dominated with chocolates, orange, alcohol and a caramel malt, with a strong spicy floral hop bitterness in the background. might not be true to the style, but great drinking as a beer

Oct 27, 2007 Pretty good stuff. Golden in color with a thin eggshell head. I picked this up at the store because I had never had it and the old lady opened it and started drinking it from the bottle. I appreciate her willingness to try new things, but keep me in the loop here. I like a higher abv beer from New Belgium. I like how the sips seemed to alternate from a hearty maltiness to a crisp, sweet hop flavor. Kinda thin on the tongue. I agree with many of the raters that this is an awkward take on the style, but I liked it for what it was.

Oct 26, 2007 Pours a golden amber with a pretty decent full white head with good retention. Aroma is hop flowers and malt. Sweet roasted malt flavor with notes of maple and caramel, spices and hop bitterness at the end. Interesting beer. Seasonal perhaps, but this ale would be good year round.

Oct 25, 2007 Wonderful hop aroma with citrus and spice. Gold to orange color with a big head that thins out after a short time. Complex taste...sweet, malty, bitter (hop and other). Long finish and good mouthfeel.

Oct 25, 2007 My personal favorite. Obvious dry hoppiness. In my experience its a much better beer on tap than from a bottle. Also better to take in a globe glass or a snifter. The aroma dominates the head and enhances the experience.
