| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 30, 2007 Nice reddish gold pour with a thin, yet lasting head. Some hints of skunk to the aroma, with an otherwise hoppy scent. Strong hoppy flavor, much more than a typical bitter, with nice nutty undertones...not a bad beer, but nothing wonderful (and it is -1F as I’m consuming this!) FezMonkey (268), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 21, 2007 This is a very unique and complex beer. I’m not sure why it is in the category of bitter, it really is in a category all of it’s own. The aromas/flavors make me think this is something of a hybrid between a porter and an IPA. It has a very strong dark roast/burnt malt flavor and at the same time has a very strong west coast hop presence. Very unique and very good. GG (1640), NorCal, California, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jan 20, 2007 NorCal tasting Jan 07 - Ughh. Not the best thing NB has ever put forth. An aroma of garbage and brocoli. Just want every beer geek wants. The beer looked great in my glass, with a crystal clear amber color. Mouthfeel was watery thin, no body at all. Flavor was (surpise) more brocoli which blotted out any other qualities I tried to pick-up. Cornfield (4943), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA

Interesting ring lacing. The aroma is a perfume of flowers and citric zest with some black pepper tossed in. Light, soft bodied. In the flavor the light malty notes are almost hidden by the hoppy spiciness. The finish is a modest flowery bitterness. Not bad, but sort of light for a winter warmer.
