Gold bodywith white head and some decent lacing. Flavor has some good carbination and and seams like I could write a beer blelch song. Spicey at times bitter at times and malthouse flavor at times. A complex brew to say the least. Canadianlush (169), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 14, 2007 Strong and loaded with flavor. Poured very nice and finishes long. A little on the hoppy side which is a trademark of the boys at New Belgium. Overall I’d say this did a nice job with this one. joet (1709), Fulton, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 14, 2007 Wow, nice hoppy Chinooky aroma. The bber’s texture is also nice as the flavor ebbs to something more average of kicked down lighter malts that seem a little south of fresh. Still a wonderful brew without much residual sugar and not so punishing as to keep the drinker from asking for another. hopdog (5606), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 13, 2007 12oz bottle acquired in trade with cbkschubert (thanks!). Poured a medium and clear orange color with an averaged sized head. Aromas of pine (initially I was getting a strong pine which surprised me for an ESB), caramel, citrus, and light spices. On the Hoppy side. Tastes of caramel, spicey, and citrus. lemansgranprix (20), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 13, 2007 Tried this from the bottle but found I had to pour it into a glass to drink it. It was heavy on the malty side, which although that was the intent, it was a bit much for my taste. Still finished clean and laced the glass well. Over all I am happy with just about everything from New Belgium Brewing Co. DaMenace123 (251), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 13, 2007 Tap at Ginger Man Houston. Clear amber pour. Malty aroma. Great malty flavor, but balanced, somewhat sweet and earthy, also somewhat creamy. Great. Illini08 (528), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 13, 2007 Didn’t seem like an ESB to me at all. Very malty and smooth. All English hops usually don’t taste any good to me and usually offend my palate, but this was a lot more malt than hops. Nice winter seasonal, a lot different than most I’ve had. barleyPops (1081), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA
