| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 7, 2005 Bubblegum esters dominate the sweet, rich, bready, malty aroma with some herbal notes also apparent. Clear, deep copper-brown with decent, fine bubbled, fizzy tan head that diminishes immediately to a partial cover and ring. Bubblegum esters are strong in the sweet malty flavour with some earthy, grassy notes and some banana also apparent. Medium-full body with pointy, fizzy carbonation that is somewhat distracting. Snifter. Cellar temperature. Bottle (BB 7-Jul-06, Liquor Mart, CO, Oct-05). mreeves (257), Sammamish, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 6, 2005 Brownish color, lots of carbonation. Sweet flavor dominates. A nice, reasonably priced dubbel, but certainly not the best example of the style. GeoDoc (34), San Antonio, Texas, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 22, 2005 12oz bottle - pours a deep mahogany color, with a monsterous full head and lot’s of lacing. Aroma is fruity with nuances of malt, coffee and fresh bread. Flavor is semi-sweet and malty with a touch of hops. Mouthfeel is med/full and creamy, not too much fizz. Finish is nicely complex, with a touch of bitterness. This is an easy drinking beer, offering a host of flavor. stubby (326), Santee, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 15, 2005 Best thing I’ve had from New Belgium yet. Tasted like a mix of Fat Tire and Chimay Red. Not over-the-top phenols like you get in real Belgian beers, but on the way there. Most of New Belgium’s "Belgian" styles don’t taste Belgian at all to me, but this one does. Great value.
