Rated blind from "Better Know a Style: Abbey Dubbel" tasting. Clear, dark amber/ruby red with small off-white head. Plum, dark fruit aroma, alc, medium in strength, nice. Caramel flavor, plum, dark fruit, grape/winey (red apple), banana, mild alc. Medium body, no carb, creamy. Fine enough, though something is off.

Well balanced dubbel.

Oct 20, 2008 Draught. Lowi white short and fluffy head. Clear dark brown body. Lovely sweet berries aroma. Dry sweet berries nuts flavor. Low carbonation and a long sweet aftertaste.

Sep 17, 2008 Garnet colored...impressive off-white creamy head. Nuttiness, dark fruit, caramel and brown sugar on the nose. You can definitely taste it’s Belgian influences but it just doesn’t stand up to the smaller batch beers in terms of complexity. A nice transitional brew. Inexpensive and tasty, but not amazing.

Sep 11, 2008 Brewed in large quantities reduces the Belgian ale-ness. However, thats makes me like this beer a bit more than others of similar style.
