Gregis (904), Overland Park, Kansas, USA Jul 31, 2007 Pours an effervescent clear mahogany with a creamy off-white head. Light caramel and yeasty esters dominate the nose: bubble gum, plum and black cherry. Medium-bodied, I found this beer to be extremely dry, wicking almost all moisture from my tongue. Sweet, yeasty and malty with notes of plum, bubblegum, wood and white pepper with a light alcohol on the exhale. A nice beer, albeit a bit dry for my tastes.
beerdad (42), Kansas, USA Aug 29, 2008 Bottled. Pours brownish-red with a medium off-white head. Smells of roasty malt, nutmeg and yeast. It has a bite from the alcohol and carbonation, but is very smooth. Tastes of yeast/bread and grapefruit. A pretty good beer. Lubiere (3231), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Aug 25, 2008 A dark clear brown ale with a thick frothy lacing moka head. A fruity malt with esters of banana and malt, orange peels and cloves. In mouth, an intense sweet ale with solvent like qualities and alcohol warmth. Tasted August 2007. durhambeer (397), Durham, North Carolina, USA Aug 22, 2008 Bottle from liquidsolutions. Amber pour with off-white head. Aromas of belgian sugar, yeast, brown sugar, and mild cinnamon notes. Quite malty. Tastes a bit stronger than 7%, so the alcohol is definitely showing through. Solid. emacgee (1033), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Aug 22, 2008 Pours a dark ruby copper with a two finger creamy yellow head. The nose is sweet, a little malty, has that rusty/peaty dubbel aroma, Belgian yeast, fruity, spicy, alcohol.
The flavor was malty, fruity, spicy, some alcohol, peaty, banana. Full carbonated mouthfeel, smooth warming finish.
