Commercial Description:
Biere De Mars is New Belgium’s exploration of the classic French and Belgian brews celebrating the half-winter, half-spring month of March. Our bottle-conditioned version, however, goes where no BIERE DE MARS has gone before. After gazing at its cloudy, yet glowing orange hue, prepare yourself for a celestial collaboration of oats, wheat, barley malt and lemon verbena, all of which is set into orbit by unidentified flying yeast strains.

Super hazy caramel color, thin white fizzy head. Complex nose of funky farm yard, lemony, soft oak, and touches of vanilla. Flavor has less funk and more emphasis on the lemony, vanilla, and oaky tones. Soft peppery and nutty earthy tones provide some additional complexities as you get closer to the mid and end point. Medium bodied, soft carbonation and smooth, drying, semi-bittersweet finish. A very nice change of pace from the everyday variety....

The rain clouds gather in the amber sky. Beside me a boy bites into an orange. I pull the bubble gum out of my baseball cards.

Bottle: Foggy, burnt caramel color with a fluffy, off-white head. I definitely smell the lemon verbena and something else like curdling milk as well as other herbs. The taste isn’t as good as I was hoping for -- aftertaste is kind of like I imagine my little boy’s urine-logged diaper would taste like. I imagine there are other redeeming qualities, pehaps I drank it too cold.

Another excellent beer from New Belgium Brewing. Something that flies in the face of the usual. A very intriguing belgian style ale. Appearance: Nice ruddy brown and cloudy with a white lacy head. Delicate aroma or hops against a sour brackground... Flavor a dance between sour, malty sweetness delicious.... the label says Lemon Verbena, I could not detect it. If you are looking for something different in the sea of IPAs and IIPAs and Stouts this is a must find

On tap @ FS: Light aroma of flowers, oranges, apricot. Cloudy dark orange color. Smallish white head, lasting. Smooth semi-sweet taste, apricot, fizzy, hops, spicy, bitter aftertaste.

BDM has a most unique hue of orange. it sets a true glow to the beer. it aroma is distinctly citrus. the mouth feel is very effervenscent with a good amounts of grain shining through. the lemony citrus quenches any thirst. overall a nice brew for the season it was meant for.

The head is near white and of average height after the pour; the body is murky which gives away the wheat malt of this beer. Upon first smelling, your nose is hit with a light spiciness with a hint of coriander. Quite surprising as the label does not say coriander is present. The flavor is a little light and malty with a nice light and dspicy after-taste. The body is light and somewhat creamy with a decent amount of carbonation. A nice beer to drink a little on the cold side on a warm summer day. Another thumbs up for New Belgium.

12 oz bottle pours a yellowish head that dissapates quickly, leaving small lacing. The body is a dirty yellow, very hazy. It smells of fresh hops and lemon and honey. Tastes very smooth, with much lemon and a little orange peel to the mid and endtaste. An interesting drink to say the least.
