KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Jun 13, 2005 Wonderful seasonal that gives a nice representation of its parts- sweet apricot, tangy hops, and a nice roasted malt. A very satisfying brew that I wish was available year round. CapFlu (3480), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Jun 1, 2005 (12oz bottle) Pours a thin, white, creamy head with a mildly clouded orange body. Best before April 2005. Nose and flavours of apricots, yeast and marshmellows. Thanks to Joey Capps for the offering! Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada May 29, 2005 Hazy golden ale with a creamy white head. Yeasty malt with light sulfur notes. Sweet malt with yeast and coriander notes with lingering light bitterness, and nice lemony points. Medium bodied. Thanks to Joe C., via Capflu. ColoradoBobs (31), Colorado, USA May 21, 2005 On tap at the brewery -- talk about fresh and properly-served!
Brewed with Pale, Aromatic, C-40 and Carapils malts, all fairly lightly-toasted. Willamette, Cascade and Magnum hops are very much kept in abeyance here, with only 18 IBU. The malts dominate the smell and the taste.
Unpasteurized (as all of this breweries ales are!), unfiltered. bottle-conditioned spring ale on its first run of the season .
Semi-cloudy, orange-colored pretty looking beer.
Notes of orange and lemon in the nose, with wheat and maybe even oats. Taste matches, but lays a bit lower than the smell.
Very drinkable and very pleasant. You who live in Colorado need to try this one at the brewery. You who don’t live in Colorado -- well, tough luck! jzzbassman (838), New Albany, Mississippi, USA May 19, 2005 Did not strike me as a typical saison, with a little less funkiy yeast straings. Nice flavor of fruit, a bit dry, and a pleasant drink. Aroma of citrus was hampered by an unidentified off-aroma that smelled astringent. henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA May 15, 2005 When poured from the bottle, this beer presented a golden copper, slightly cloudy liquid covered by an inch of rich, foamy head that lasted nicely throughout and left good lacing. The aromas were malty with spicy notes of coriander and lemon verbena just as advertised on the label. The mouthfeel was light and dry with impressions of spice. The middle was sweet and dry while the finish was slightly bitter and had a nice alcohol warmth. Schultsc (478), Henderson, Nevada, USA May 6, 2005 Updated: Oct 8, 2007Has an off aroma similar to Fat Tire Ale. The flavors are not as bad but don’t really add up to anything special--no noteworthy hops, malt, or yeast characteristics. Although the cloudiness is intentional, it was a detraction for me in this case. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA May 4, 2005 Bottle. Cloudy orange-amber beer with an off-white head. Sweet candy/malt aroma. Sweet malt/grain flavor with some citrus aftertaste. Easy drinking. Refreshing.
