Commercial Description:
Biere De Mars is New Belgium’s exploration of the classic French and Belgian brews celebrating the half-winter, half-spring month of March. Our bottle-conditioned version, however, goes where no BIERE DE MARS has gone before. After gazing at its cloudy, yet glowing orange hue, prepare yourself for a celestial collaboration of oats, wheat, barley malt and lemon verbena, all of which is set into orbit by unidentified flying yeast strains.

Light orange color with smallish head (drank out of plastic cup at the pool). A bit light for me without any real outstanding characteristics. Lightly bitter. Light wheat. Lightcitrus. Light.

Murky orange out of the bottle with a sweet orange nose. Almost no head with the pour and what was there went away quickly. Apple, peach, orange candy, honey and faint spice all in the flavor. I got some dough at the end and orange rind in the finish. Interesting beer. I haven’t had many saisons, but this didn’t taste like them.

Pours a rich pumpkin color, with large balls of yeast throughout. The emulsion has the consistency of honey when in the glass, but goes down like liquid, perhaps shifting its state of matter. Interesting flavor, sophisticated and enjoyable overall. Initially bitter, but develops into a great biere de mars.

Bottle. Pour is an almost orange amber. Nose is sweet and hoppy with some citrus. Taste is very flat. Almost no carbonation. First flavor notes are citrus, bitter, hops, and caramel. There is a flavor here that I do not like, but I can’t put my finger on it. There is a flavor on the back of the tongue during the finish that reminds me of sucking on cardboard. To sum it up, this beer is not very enjoyable. Blah.

Has a grainy lemon citrus smell. Cloudy orange with yeast sediments. Has a grainy citrus taste as well. Reminds me in some way of pinesol.

Pours a hazy orange color with a small white head. Aroma was slightly spicy with some citrus hop aroma. Taste had a moderate sweet taste with a slightly bitter end. Very smooth going down leaving a slightly acidic taste behind. If i had to make up a word to describe it i think i would chose, Fubaneii

Pours an orangish beige, kind of fizzy white head, fair lacing, mostly diminishing head, loaded with visible yeast, large particles, the liquid itself is about average density. Barnyard horsy yeast aroma (more so as I finished my glass), with a touch of citrus, a bread level malt, some nutmeg, clove, etc. Light acidity and moderate sweetness, with some bitterness, the finish is less bitter and less acidic, sweetness lingers. Medium length finish. Medium body. Fresh juice-like texture. Fizzy carbonation. The finish is lightly astringent. An unusual combination of flavors, very interesting, but not something I would regularly drink. My guess is that this beer is meant to go with food.

Pours cloudy orange with much sediment floating around. Tall off-white head, dissipates quickly. Not much aroma. Flavor is strongly malty with a bitter finish. Begins sweet and ends somewhat sour and acidic. Not bad. A citrusy beer that still has plenty of malt. Nice alcohol kick.
