Spicy, phenolic aroma of medecine, sweat, cologne...like a classic saison meeting Orval. The palate is crisp, slightly toasty but largey perfumey, piney and phenolic. Straightforward, but I like it this way. Refreshing.
Old Notes (2000): Orangey, lively aroma and palate. Soft, rounded malt notes, peppery hints, and a touch of acidity dancing on the tongue. Very stylish. DJMonarch (6777), Northwich, Cheshire, England

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 28, 2003 Deep, hazy golden/orange color. Large, rocky white head. Mostly lasting with excellent lacework.
The nose holds notes of soap, citrus and vineous fruit.
The flavor is malty and lightly sweet up front, then balanced out nicely on the backside with lightly bitter and astringent citrus fruit peel flavors.
Medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and very fizzy carbonation. Short, astringent and very dry finish. Citrusy and tart at the wee end.
Very refreshing Spring beer!
Thanks to jskendzel for this brew!
