Yeasty and sweet nose and super rocky head billow forth to greet you. This is a nice melding of sweet and spicy flavors, neither taking firm control of the taste, and the body is nice and supple, not too thick (yet it threatens) - yet, there is no element of danger here as in the great saisons, no hint of herbal madness stalking you and about to pounce when you aren't looking. Solid and well-constructed - I like it. As it warms it is starting to get sweet like the dupont saison series, I think.... Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 23, 2004 Bottle. Pour is an almost orange amber. Nose is sweet and hoppy with some citrus. Taste is very flat. Almost no carbonation. First flavor notes are citrus, bitter, hops, and caramel. There is a flavor here that I do not like, but I can’t put my finger on it. There is a flavor on the back of the tongue during the finish that reminds me of sucking on cardboard. To sum it up, this beer is not very enjoyable. Aroma is slight spices and citrus. Perhaps a little bit like orange pekoe tea. Smooth bodied. Some spices a bit yeasty with mild sweetness throughout. Tasting again like the orange pekoe. Refreshing carbonation. Not getting much from oats or wheat. Solid American saison. ryan (1776), Beltsville, Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 10, 2006 Pours a orange/amber with small off-white head. The aroma is apricot, caramel with plenty of barnyard Brettiness. The flavor is musty and sour with bits of pear, apple, peaches and spice. Slightly bitter finish. Mouthfeel is smooth with lively carbonation. tjthresh (1770), Greenfield, Indiana, USA

Looks like peach necter, but no real head. Yuck. Smells like one of my kid’s poopy diapers. That is way hard to get past. Makes it hard to taste anything. Carbonation dances over the tongue. Pretty nasty. JCB (1765), Durham, North Carolina, USA

Amber pour with modest carbonation. The aroma is quite nice, with lively hops, pepper, and brett mixing playfully together. Nice full body. The spice and hops are up front, but there’s a very pleasant bretty finish to this one. Not quite as much complexity as you’d want for the style (and price!) but a very enjoyable beer for sure.
