Commercial Description:
Biere De Mars is New Belgium’s exploration of the classic French and Belgian brews celebrating the half-winter, half-spring month of March. Our bottle-conditioned version, however, goes where no BIERE DE MARS has gone before. After gazing at its cloudy, yet glowing orange hue, prepare yourself for a celestial collaboration of oats, wheat, barley malt and lemon verbena, all of which is set into orbit by unidentified flying yeast strains.

Hazy, golden body with a thin, off-white head. The aroma is light and slightly citrusy, made up of lemon and orange zest, with bits of wheat, yeast, fresh baked bread and some lightly floral hops. The body is light and refreshing. The flavor is clean and enjoyable. Nothing mind blowing, but solid and tasty. Not like the most common US-brewed Saisons, which is fine by me. There is no overpowering coriander or other spices. I could drink a lot of this if it were available regularly.

Pours a clean golden color with a good head that recedes slowly. Aromas of spice, pie crust, and cooked apples. Medium nectar with ample effers. Mildly sweet on delivery with a quick mildly tart bittering component. Goof aroma to palate follow through. The finish lingers with what seems to be a touch of sour.

22 ox. bottle - the new 2009 release I guess; pours clear, dark gold with spotty white head; stale grain, sour lemons and dried flowers; soft, medium body that drinks with a nice, mild syrupy quality; wild flowers and maybe blueberries; nose is kind of strange, but this wasn’t half bad

Tap at Boonville Beer Fest. Orangish-amber color with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, mild funk/earth, and some fruity notes. Flavor is bready caramel malt and banana and other tropical fruits. Smooth palate with soft carbonation from the bottle conditioning.

Pours with a volumnous foaming head that reduces quickly leaving very nice lace. . . Firey orange colour that brings brillance to an otherwise gloomy day (for me). Very unqiue aroma - malty this second, lemon hops the next. Robust malt on the tongue, hints of wheat, then a spicy hop finish that is light and refreshing.

Pours clear reddish copper with a finger thick cream colored head. Nose is clove and spice with lemon and esters. The flavor is similar with a bit of metallic influence. Medium mouthfeel.

Tap. Golden small head. Maltiness in flavor, slightly sweet. Drinkable but nothing special.
