Commercial Description:
Biere De Mars is New Belgium’s exploration of the classic French and Belgian brews celebrating the half-winter, half-spring month of March. Our bottle-conditioned version, however, goes where no BIERE DE MARS has gone before. After gazing at its cloudy, yet glowing orange hue, prepare yourself for a celestial collaboration of oats, wheat, barley malt and lemon verbena, all of which is set into orbit by unidentified flying yeast strains.

Very pretty color and head. Citrus comes out in the end. Nice hops-malt combo.

Bottled. Amber coloured. Funky, yeasty aroma. Fruity and very lively with notes of blue cheese. Clean hard malt profile. Notes of toffee in the finish.

Pours a cloudy deep amber orange color with a small creamy lasting head, light citrus flowery aroma. Wheat flavors kind of reminds me of lemon cough drops. Medium body with a dry finish, not bad very interesting I have not tasted anything quite like it.

A beautiful cloudy orange color and a nice head that leaves a decent amount of brussels lace on the glass. Kind of hoppy with a smooth malty finish. The oats and wheat aren’t too obvious. The lemon verbena adds a nice little zest, but grows a bit irritating after you put a few of these down.

Orange bodied, spicey and full of citrus fruits in the nose. Body is full of soft carbonation, but nice flavors - sweet malts, coriander - dry finish with lots of citrus around the edges. Good saison.

Poured a hazy yellow gold. Aroma of bubble gum, yeasty, touch of funk. Flavor was mildly tart and fruity with a hop bitterness on the finish. Lively on the tongue.

Cloudy golden color, fruity nose and taste of light citrus. Pleasant and easy drinkin'. Finish is somewhat drying.

Warm, honey-colored body with medium carbonation and a tight sudsy white head. Interesting and novel citrus character presumably from both the yeast and lemon verbena. Nice peppery edge. Moderate plastic phenols. Lightly toasted, biscuity malt underbelly with honey tones. Fruity esters suggesting sweet bananas come to the front in the flavor. Considerable malty character for a saison with hints of butter and nuts. Also has a light woody character and a nice subtle touch of barnyard. Long finish with some mild but noticeable hop flavor and bitterness. Seems like it could be drier and fuller. Has a slight syrupy effect on the tongue. Does seem to dry out and improve with some modest cellaring. This is an enjoyable and unique beer overall that’s always worth revisiting from time to time.
