Poured into a worthy glass with a gorgeous fluffy head atop a lightly hazt amber body. Nose is of brettanomyces and fruity citrus. Palate with great, filled with lightly bready malt flavors and silky fruit flavors leading to a slightly dry finish with citrus and a bit of lingering acidity. Excellent version of a rarely brewed style. bgoguen (53), Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 8, 2006 Biere de Mars is a truly amazing beer. It almost glows in the bottle. This is a transcendent saison-style with awesome golden-orange color and great tangy, citrus aromas. Earthy, fruity, citrus-orange and floral notes bubble to the surface with a subtle yeasty background and smooth, crisp, well-balanced character. No overpowering spiciness like some saisons. I’ve picked up this seasonal brew for years now and it never gets old. I look forward to it every year and toward the end of the season I stockpile a six pack or two in my fridge so I can have it even after it’s sold out. This is a must try for any NB fan or any fan of great Belgian-style beers. prpplague (247), Euless, Texas, USA

Very malty, complex blend of oats, wheat, barley malts and lemon verbena. Nicely hoppy, good balance. Mouthfeel is full. Very complex taste, good full flavor. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is a little sweet and malty. Very different, good taste. Interesting beer. RogerBurks (45), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 27, 2004 A beautiful beer to look at. The aroma is inviting and seductive, a hint of the many pleasures to come. The beer itself is complex: waves of fruit, malt, grass, spice and yeast. Those flavors deepen as the palate lingers. One of my new favorites. irishsnake (353), Oakland, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 6, 2005 beer pours a very hazy, orangish color with a big fluffy white head that doesn’t retain so well, but leaves a lot of lace. aroma is huge, with citric notes dominant, but some subtler barnyard and grassy/hay notes underneath. flavor is very nice-a crisp maltiness with some sweetness, a light hop presence, and a nice tang from the yeast. goes down easily. a nice effort.

A tad spicy, wheaty and very strong fruity aroma and flavors reminiscent of corriander and tangerine, with a nice bits of hops and a malty balanced aftertaste. Makes this a very enjoyable saison.
