Commercial Description:
Biere De Mars is New Belgium’s exploration of the classic French and Belgian brews celebrating the half-winter, half-spring month of March. Our bottle-conditioned version, however, goes where no BIERE DE MARS has gone before. After gazing at its cloudy, yet glowing orange hue, prepare yourself for a celestial collaboration of oats, wheat, barley malt and lemon verbena, all of which is set into orbit by unidentified flying yeast strains.

POur is a very hazy off orange with a frothy white head. Aroma is a bit lemony with notes of vanilla. Flavor is yeasty and caramel with lots of sweetness throughtout. You get a nice dose of wet hops on the end of the swallow. Vey tasty and quite unique.

A nice orange colored amber beer. Good head and a very nice citrus nose. Liked the flavors on this beer. This was very drinkable and the frutiness and spices where just perfect to the balance of malts. A good after winter beers...beer..

Bottle. Hazy orange colored. with a fast fading white head. Little lacing left behind. Aroma is slight spices and citrus. Perhaps a little bit like orange pekoe tea. Smooth bodied. Some spices a bit yeasty with mild sweetness throughout. Tasting again like the orange pekoe. Refreshing carbonation. Not getting much from oats or wheat. Solid American saison.

I have always considered this brewery a little over-praised, but they do make some interesting seasonals. This one has a great look -- a cloudy burnt orange (go Longhorns). Pretty, delicate head. Dry and lightly spicy, from nose to finish. Sturdy but not heavy. Most beers that are ’not for every one’ tend to be for me. This one is not an exception.

pours a cloudy orange with a huge white head. aroma is sour as expected from asaison like beverage with a yeasty note that is a bit peppery. there is a noticeable hop presence in this sucker, that is very grapefruit/orange like. lemony flavor that has some body to it. wow, the yeasty flavor comes through here. this is a nice affordable version of a good saison. it doesn’t quite measure up to one, but it is good on its own. wonderful dry chalky alcohol and grape finish. i will buy a 6 of this. i could spend an evening with this beer and not be ashamed. wow this is dry.

12oz bottle shared courtesy of weeare138 (thanks!). Poured a deeper and cloudy golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of apple fruitiness, light yeast, and some citrus. Tastes of lemon citrus, some wheat, yeast and fruity.

Poured a nice caramel amber with a gerat head and lacing. Fruity citrus aroma. Flavor is light hops and citrus, yeast, fruit. This is a good easy drinking beer that would be great cold in the summer.
