Commercial Description:
Biere De Mars is New Belgium’s exploration of the classic French and Belgian brews celebrating the half-winter, half-spring month of March. Our bottle-conditioned version, however, goes where no BIERE DE MARS has gone before. After gazing at its cloudy, yet glowing orange hue, prepare yourself for a celestial collaboration of oats, wheat, barley malt and lemon verbena, all of which is set into orbit by unidentified flying yeast strains.

This was the first brew for me in this style, so I had no idea what to expect. It was crisp and refreshing. The lemon is not overpowering, and the other flavors are well rounded.

Overall a little dissapointing. Pours a hazy orange/amber in color, with no head. Flavors of honey, and light citrus notes. The good note is that it goes down easy so I can try something else.

Aroma is yeast, citrus, peach and apricot, hazy apricot colour, tiny custard head. Taste is musty lemon, peach, and yeast. Light bodied, easy drinking, mildly tart. Very good, but could use some spice? Thanks a lot wohlfs.

I like the citrus taste. The aroma isn’t too strong, but this is made up for in what’s really important, the taste. Fat tire might be a little better, but not by much.

Starts rather carbonated, but I let it sit after takinng what I felt was a pre-mature sip to sample. The lecitrusy aroma was increasingly evident as the ale warmed up to room temperature. However, the intent of an oat flavor was not felt on the palate as I sampled this ale. Overall, a refreshing and unique offereing from New Belgium.

It looked good, but just seemed entirely too bland for a saison. The spices were very hard to find, and it didn't have much kick to it in general. There was a nice citrus flavor going on with a light malt finish, but all in all a bland beer.

Orange all over the place, in the color, nose and flavor. Nice citrus notes up front, when it warms up a little, it seemed to have a little honey flavor to it. Nice clean finish.

Foggy amber orange color, faint white head. Aroma is citrus, floral notes, caramel, and dried fruit. Taste is slightly hoppy, with fruit and caramel accents.
